About Rhianon Rose Ceramics
Rhianon Rose Ceramics draw inspiration from the concept of “Sukha” - a lasting sense of contented happiness, ease and deep joy that extends beyond transitory pleasure. Each Rhianon Rose Ceramics collection explores an idea of human happiness through a symbolic design theme. They are born of Rhianon Vichta-Ohlsen’s background in Art Therapy, Psychology and Buddhist Philosophy.
Sukha [Soo-Kah]:
An authentic state of happiness that is lasting; joy; contentment.
Rhianon loves to create unique “functional art” pieces that celebrate the soft forms of the natural world.
They are designed to integrate art into everyday life, infusing beauty and meaning into the home spaces, routines and special occasions of our lives.
Rhianon Rose Ceramics embrace the idea that an intentionally created object, when used in daily life, can spark moments of reflection, inspiration and contentment. Functional art pieces can, Rhianon believes, be more than possessions, they are investments in cultivating calmer, happier ways of nurturing ourselves and those we care about.
Rhianon Rose Ceramics consciously harmonise rich colours; abundant multi-layered surfaces; and soft organic shapes to build both visual and conceptual meaning. Holding these hand-formed ceramics creates a sense of connection to the hand of the artist in their gentle curves, meticulous hand-painting and unique intricately carved designs.
Rhianon Rose Ceramics go beyond their expected purpose by creating opportunities to elevate life’s everyday moments into meditations and celebrations of our own capacity for happiness.
Rhianon Rose Ceramics are made all hand-made in Rhianon’s “tree house studio” nestled in the lush gardens of her Brisbane home.
